Jennifer E. Hastie is Director of the Institute of Photonics and Professor of Physics at the University of Strathclyde. Her research focuses on novel solid-state and semiconductor lasers, with particular emphasis on wavelength versatility, spectral purity, and applications in precision metrology and spectroscopy. She has held leadership roles in the UK’s Quantum Technology Programme since 2014, leading work on ultra-coherent VECSELs for atomic physics, including optical clocks, and is currently Deputy Lead of the UK Hub for Quantum Enabled Position, Navigation and Timing. She is a Fellow of Optica.
