Join us at the Guided by Light - Student Conference 2025, a two-day international event preceding Photonics Ireland 2025. Organised by the Irish OPTICA and SPIE Student Chapters, co-organised by the Photonic Integration and Advanced Data Storage Centre for Doctoral Training (PIADS CDT), the event brings together Master’s and PhD students in photonics, as well as anyone curious about the science of light, for an engaging programme of talks, networking, and knowledge exchange.
Hosted at Tyndall National Institute, Cork/Ireland, this student conference aims at fostering a dynamic environment for networking, collaboration, and professional development.
Through inspiring and informational talks, attendees will gain insights into cutting-edge advancements in photonics, helping to shape their understanding of the field’s future directions. A panel discussion featuring professionals from diverse career paths—academia, industry, and entrepreneurship—will provide valuable perspectives on the life after a PhD.
Participants will also engage in hands-on workshops, enhancing their practical skills, and will be provided the opportunity for an industry visit, offering a glimpse into real-world applications of photonics research.
Beyond acquiring new knowledge, the conference aims to spark connections that could lead to future collaborations and career opportunities. Whether you are seeking guidance for the next step in your career or simply looking to immerse yourself in a stimulating academic environment, this student conference promises an inspiring and enriching experience.
Join us for two days of learning, discussion, and discovery as we explore the exciting world of photonics!
