Thomas Lyons is a senior engineer at Aegiq, a quantum computing start-up company based in Sheffield. His work includes the development of high-performance single photon sources and integrated photonics for industrially relevant applications in photonic quantum computing and secure telecommunications. 

Prior to joining Aegiq, Tom received his PhD from the University of Sheffield on light-matter interactions in two-dimensional semiconductors, and was awarded two academic fellowships, most recently a Royal Society nominated fellowship in the Quantum Information Electronics Division, RIKEN, Tokyo, where he researched the applicability of magnonics and spintronics to low-power information processing and storage technologies.
